NICEM Recommendations on the Draft Programme for Government: Overview

NICEM has created an outline of its recommendations for change in the Draft Programme for Government Framework and would welcome other groups in using this as a resource for developing their own responses.
The key issue is the lack of measures for collecting data on BME persons and other Section 75 groups, without which the Framework will not be able to work to address the needs of these groups. This is linked with the poor data collection on ethnicity, which has left data gaps that need to be filled.
The deadline for responses is Friday the 22nd of July, although groups may contact the Northern Ireland Executive at [email protected] if they need to make a late submission.
